Rapper DaBaby is selling his sprawling Troutman estate for $6,899,999.
Why it matters: It's not clear if the Charlotte native is relocating outside the area, but the listing stands out for a rapper who has spent much of his career making sure the world knows where home is through his music.
Zoom in: DaBaby, whose real name is Johnathan Kirk, bought the property for $2.3M in 2019 around the time his music career took off with his hit single "Suge." The music video for "Suge," filmed in west Charlotte, earned DaBaby two Grammy nominations.
- The property hit the market in May of this year for $6.9M.
Layout: The 11,241-square-foot, Tuscan-style estate has five bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms.
- Inside, you'll find soaring ceilings, a wine cellar, home theater, vintage arcade room, in-home barbershop and a spacious gym.
- There's also a whole home security system you'd expect with a high-profile celebrity.

Zoom out: The Lake Norman area continues to flex its luxury real estate with eye-popping price tags, and DaBaby's estate is just the latest to enter the market.
- Just this year, we've seen several expensive listings make waves, including Jon Rahm's caddie's $14 million mansion, ex-Hornet Nicolas Batum's $6 million mansion and a $19 million waterfront estate that set a record when it hit the market.
The big picture: Although he's stepping away from his Troutman estate, he's continuing to plant new roots within the Charlotte area. The local rapper has been making moves this summer, from his new restaurant announcement to his new music festival.
