Rapper DaBaby is opening a new brunch restaurant in north Charlotte this summer.
Why it matters: While the Charlotte native has long put his hometown on the map through his music, this marks his first venture into the city's food scene.
Zoom in: DaBaby first teased plans to open a restaurant earlier this year.
- Now, fresh off his inaugural Be More Grateful music festival in Concord, he's gearing up to open No Knife Chicken & Waffles off North Graham Street.
What to expect: The menu is still being finalized but will feature chicken and waffles dishes and a few recipes DaBaby has been sharing with fans through social media. While he won't serve as head chef, he'll play a major role in developing the menu.
- The restaurant also plans to stay open after midnight, offering a late-night dining option with a full bar.
The vibe: The restaurant is expected to have a fast casual concept with an upscale diner feel. Inside, there will be booth and bar seating and eventually a patio space.
- A large waffle sign was installed in front of the restaurant yesterday.
What's next: No Knife Chicken & Waffles is expected to open at 700 Atando Ave. in mid July. More details will be shared in the coming weeks leading up the opening.
