Rapper DaBaby's Charlotte brunch restaurant is now open

Rapper DaBaby's new brunch restaurant is now open in north Charlotte.
Why it matters: While the Charlotte native has long put his hometown on the map through his music, the Labor Day weekend opening of No Knife Chicken & Waffles marks his first venture into the city's food scene.
Zoom in: It's been a busy year for the local rapper between listing his Lake Norman mansion to launching a new business.
- Fresh off his inaugural Be More Grateful music festival in Concord, DaBaby announced that he was opening the restaurant off North Graham Street this summer.
Dig in: DaBaby has been sharing recipes with fans through social media for a while now. While he won't serve as head chef, he played a major role in developing the menu.
- Expect waffles with nine different flavors including banana pudding, birthday cake, peach cobbler and red velvet (all $25). There's also a soul food cornbread waffle for $45 which is topped with collard greens, candied yams and mac and cheese.
- Other dishes on the menu include egg rolls, crab fried rice, fish and grits and crab cakes.
The vibe: A large waffle sign was installed in front of the fast casual restaurant earlier this summer. Inside, there are two diner style booths and bar seating for about 16 people.
- Outside there's two patios. There's a smaller patio in front of the restaurant and a larger patio space in the back has a stage, large screen, speakers, plenty of seating and a hot tub.
Stop by: Find No Knife Chicken & Waffles at 700 Atando Ave. There's a large dedicated lot across the restaurant with free parking.
- It's open daily from 7am-midnight, offering a late-night dining option. The patio hours are from 5pm-midnight Monday through Friday and 8am-midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
