Former Hornets player Nicolas Batum's Lake Norman mansion just hit the market for $6 million.
Why it matters: Batum was on the Hornets roster the last time the team made the playoffs in 2016, and selling his Cornelius waterfront home marks one of his final ties to the Charlotte area.
Context: Batum has spent more than a decade with the NBA, including his stint with the Hornets from 2015 to 2020 as a small forward and shooting guard.
- The NBA veteran has also played for the Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers and is now with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Layout: At more than 10,320 square feet, the Mediterranean-style residence has six bedrooms, six full baths and three half-baths.
- Inside, you'll find high ceilings, an elevator, custom millwork, a boutique-style dressing room with custom closets, and a dedicated shoe room. From many rooms, there are expansive lakefront views.
- The three-level mansion also features multiple covered balconies, five garages, a wine vault and a private home theater.
Features: In the backyard of the 1.35-acre waterfront estate are covered verandas, outdoor fireplaces, a pool and spa, and a waterfall flowing into a lower plunge pool.
- Beyond the pool, the property also has a basketball court — as you'd imagine for an NBA player — along with a gazebo pavilion and covered dock with direct access to the lake.
