In October, our team indulged in a mix of oldies but goodies and new eateries.
Salmon sprout wrap from Salted Melon in South End
"After years of saying 'I'll get there eventually,' I finally tried Salted Melon. The salmon sprout wrap was a symphony of flavor. I need every other wrap to take note, because it was warm, held its shape and wasn't soggy. Wraps should never be soggy." — Ashley Mahoney, reporter

Beef & shrimp yakisoba noodles from Hibachi Pit in Concord
"It was so much food that I was able to stretch my leftovers into three days. Next time, I'll be sure to share one of those large plates with another person." — Alexis Clinton, reporter

The Doragon roll from Oshen in south Charlotte
"This roll could make anyone a sushi believer. And the sauce is a winner too — it's a mix of eel sauce and spicy mayo." — McKenzie Rankin, reporter

An apple cider flight and apple cider donuts from Windy Hill Orchard
"My husband and I spent a glorious fall afternoon at Windy Hill where we split a cider flight and a donut or two. The Rusty Gold was my favorite (very autumnal), while my husband favored the Jersey Blues Blueberry. Given the lack of actual apples, I'd say this place is more like a really festive brewery than an orchard once the pickin' is done." — Bri Crane, reporter

The "Big Gabagool" from Zepeddie's Pizzeria in LoSo
"After a nearly 25-year hiatus, Zepeddie's Pizzeria reopened in Lower South End. Although our Instagram comments section is very adamant this is not NY-style pizza (and I kinda agree), the pizza and tiramisu I had were still pretty delicious." — Laura Barrero, editor
