Zepeddie's Pizzeria reopens in Charlotte after being closed for more than two decades

Zepeddie's Pizzeria, after a nearly 25-year hiatus, is now open in Lower South End.
Why it matters: The NY-style pizza restaurant resided on Woodlawn Road from 1994 to 2001. Now it's back in a new location with some new menu items, but under the same original ownership.
Flashback: The Zepsa family opened the original Zepeddie's in 1994 and sold it in 1999. The new owners had it for about two years before closing. Now the Zepsas are back with this revival edition. And yes, longtime Charlotteans, they're using the original neon sign, as Queen City Nerve noted.
Dig in: Zepeddie's offers NY-style pizza, available in 12- and 16-inch pies, plus calzones, stromboli, sandwiches and desserts.
- You can choose between thin- or thick-crust specialty pies, or build your own pie, calzone or stromboli.
Stop by: 4516 Nations Crossing Road in Lower South End, next to Lower Left Brewing.
- Open Sunday-Wednesday from 10:30am-9pm, Thursday- Saturday from 10:30am-11p.m.
What's next: Zepeddie's will host a grand opening celebration on Nov. 1 and 2.
- They'll have lunch and dinnertime entertainers, a raffle, and a stromboli eating contest on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2:30pm.
