Our team spent a lot of time dining in South End this month. I know, I know. We've got to mix it up, y'all. But there are so many new businesses sprouting in that neighborhood.
Grilled cheese and frosé from Co-Op
"Summer-like temperatures drove me right to Co-Op for frosé earlier this month. I sampled a couple of flavors and landed on watermelon cucumber; my husband got their signature strawberry." — Brianna Crane, reporter

Burnt ends from Midwood Smokehouse
"I ordered the large plate of burnt ends, which came with two sides for $25. The portion was large enough to feed two people if you want a tasty and cheap date night meal." — Alexis Clinton, reporter.

The pimento deluxe at Common Market
"They had me at pimento cheese. I savored every bit of homemade pimento cheese with bacon and tomato grilled on sourdough bread." — Ashley Mahoney, reporter

Patatas bravas at Barcelona Wine Bar
"Do I think you can mess up creamy potatoes? No, I do not. However, these are extra incredible. Barcelona's crispy patatas come drizzled in salsa brava and garlic aioli. Enjoy at the bar with a cocktail." — Alexandria Sands, reporter

The PB&Jacked protein shake from Project Lean Nation
"A fave of mine to sip during a rail trail walk, the PB&Jacked packs 42 grams of protein and tastes more like a dessert, so you won't hear me complaining. On Fridays, you can get 'em for 25% off." — McKenzie Rankin, reporter

The pork chop from Sixty Vines
"The only thing better than my meal was the service at Sixty Vines. I visited with my book club and we all felt like celebrities with the level of care and attention to detail." — Laura Barrero, editor

Scallops from Restaurant Constance
"When I was back in Charlotte recently, I met some girlfriends at Restaurant Constance for a treat-yourself-Tuesday dinner. We all took advantage of the $65 for three courses, a Tuesday-Wednesday deal that gets you an appetizer, entrée and dessert. I got the scallops, which were flavorful and elegant." — Katie Peralta Soloff, editor
