Atlanta Dream one win away from WNBA Finals

Catch up quick: The Dream, which leads the semifinals 2-0, won 101-98 Wednesday in overtime against the Liberty, with forward Angel Reese and guard Jordin Canada each scoring 23 points.

• The team finished the 2026 regular season with a 30-14 record, ranking first in the Eastern Conference and fourth in the league.

State of play: The team announced this week that it agreed to a multiyear deal to play its home games at State Farm Arena starting with the 2027 season.

• The Dream said in a news release the nearly 16,000-seat venue "dramatically expands capacity and gives thousands more fans across Georgia and the Southeast the opportunity to experience Dream basketball."
• The 5,000-seat Gateway Center Arena in College Park has served as the Dream's home base since 2021.

Flashback: The Dream has qualified for the playoffs 12 times and made it to the finals in 2010, 2011 and 2013.

By the numbers: Interest in Atlanta's WNBA team has grown exponentially, with more than a 400% increase in season ticket members over the last five years, the Dream said in its release.

• Over the last three seasons, it has sold out every home game played at the College Park venue and sold out eight games at State Farm Arena, the team said.

How to watch: Friday's game will be broadcast on ESPN2. If necessary, Game 4 is set for Sunday and Game 5 will be Wednesday.
