Vice President Kamala Harris is poised to accept her party's presidential nomination Thursday during the last day of the Democratic National Convention.
Why it matters: Joy, optimism and patriotism are expected to be at the center of her acceptance speech, a Harris-Walz campaign official told reporters.

Pop star Pink is set to perform before Harris speaks Thursday and The Chicks, formerly known as the Dixie Chicks, will sing the National Anthem.

- Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly
- Former Rep. Gabby Giffords
- Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren
- Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff, niece Meena Harris and sister Maya Harris are also scheduled to speak.

State of play: Harris is expected to be the last speaker to take the stage Thursday.

All major news networks are broadcasting convention sessions, including CNN, PBS, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, Fox News, NewsNation and C-SPAN.

Between the lines: Viewership of the first night of the convention Monday drew roughly 20 million viewers, up slightly from 2020, according to Nielsen.
