It would be easy to miss St. Pete's newest coffee shop, nestled in a nondescript plaza off Gandy Boulevard.
- But step inside Atomic Cat, and you'll feel like you've stumbled onto the set of "Mad Men."
State of play: The cafe opened two weeks ago, offering coffee, tea and matcha, along with a mix of mid-century and Victorian-era furniture and decor, much of which is also for sale.
- It's from the same owners as Ingrid's, a vintage clothing store across the plaza that's gained a steady following since it opened in 2024.
👋 Kathryn here. In the mood for a sweet treat, I ordered the Cat-amaran ($7.50) off the feline-themed latte menu.
- It was made with honey, vanilla, sea salt and toasted marshmallow cold foam — and it was delicious. There's also a food menu with sourdough pastries and light bites like chicken Caesar salad ($11.99).
- The cozy living-room vibes, free wi-fi, and plentiful seating and space make it a great fit for working, hanging out or curling up with a book.
Yes, but: Don't be fooled by the name. There are no actual cats hanging around. If only...
