Vintage clothing shop Ingrid's opens in St. Pete boasting '2014 prices'

Tucked in a nondescript shopping plaza on Gandy Boulevard, a new vintage resale shop bills itself as a "2024 thrift store with 2014 prices."
Why it matters: Thanks to Gen-Z, the secondhand clothing market is booming. But with more sellers flipping thrifted clothing at shops, flea markets and online with vendors like Depop and Poshmark, finding a good deal can be tricky.
Driving the news: That's what led Ingrid Bridges to open Ingrid's St. Pete with the help of her 26-year-old son and his on-trend friends.
👋 Kathryn here. I went by the shop's grand opening over the weekend to check out the vibe.
State of play: It was a bit out of the way from St. Pete's boutique shopping district along Central Avenue, but that's on purpose, employee Ella Waters, 23, told me.
- The area hasn't faced the same skyrocketing rent prices faced by downtown merchants.
Between the lines: Much of the inventory came from a Spring Hill man offloading 1,000 pieces of vintage clothing from his aunt and uncle's Manhattan boutique that closed years ago, Waters said.
- Other items were from estate sales, storage unit auctions and the personal collections of Bridges' son and his friends.
On the rack: The shop had tons of men's and women's clothing and accessories in great condition, and the prices were reasonable compared to what I've seen online and at markets.
- Tops ran from $8-30, jeans $8-25 and dresses $12-30, with some outliers for name-brand or older unique items.
- I scored a pair of light-wash Lee jeans for $15, and a friend bought a psychedelic tie-front top for $18.
The bottom line: I'd definitely go back.
