The Florida Strawberry Festival returns this week, which means 11 straight days of artery-clogging fair food, cows on runways and, of course, fresh berries in Plant City, the "Winter Strawberry Capital of the World."
The big picture: The 90-year-old fair is a Florida favorite, luring over 600,000 attendees last year alone.
- The festival kicks off Thursday, but if you want to see the headline acts, don't procrastinate. Tickets for Reba McEntire have sold out.
Here's what to expect.
Tickets
$15, 13+; $5, ages 6-12; free for kids 5 and under.
- Pro tip: Save money by buying tickets at these Publix stores ($10, ages 13+; $4, ages 6-12). Discounts are also available on selected days.
Parking
Spots are available in three lots on Ritter Street off Highway 92 and Highway 574; this parking map has more options.
- Fees for cars, pickup trucks and vans are $5; vehicles 20 to 40 feet long pay $10; those over 40 feet pay $15.
Food
You can find classic strawberry shortcake at three spots: East Hillsborough Historical Society strawberry shortcake, St. Clement Catholic Church make-your-own shortcake, and Transforming Life Church shortcake.
