Plenty of shady spots at C & P Coffee. Photo: Melissa Santos/Axios
Several readers recommended C & P Coffee to me after I compiled a list of Seattle's best old-school coffee shops. After visiting recently, I can confirm this Craftsman home-turned-cafe fits the bill.
Zoom in: The inside of the West Seattle coffee shop invites you to linger with its brick fireplace, couches, abundance of windows and brightly painted walls.
Yes, but: When the sun's out, you'll find people hanging outside — either on the back deck, which is surrounded by a tree-lined garden, or under cafe tables shaded by umbrellas.

The bottom line: If this place were a bit closer to my house, I would work remotely from there all summer.
Stop by: 5612 California Avenue Southwest.
