A new sea otter, Ruby, is settling in this week at the Seattle Aquarium.
Catch up quick: Ruby was stranded and rescued as a day-old pup in 2015.
At the time, she weighed 1.9 pounds — "one of the smallest sea otters her rescuers had ever seen," the aquarium said in an email to members.
She spent the last few years at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Now, she'll frolic alongside two other sea otters, Mishka and Sekiu, here in Seattle.
Between the lines: Southern sea otters like Ruby weigh less than northern sea otters — so she'll be a bit smaller than her two companions, who are of the northern variety.
