Nearly 4 in 10 young, childless Seattleites are thinking about packing up and moving, a new survey finds.
As it turns out, that's a smaller share than in many big cities.
Why it matters: Lots of young people considering a move can signal bigger issues for any given city, like a lack of perceived job opportunities or affordable housing, Axios' Alex Fitzpatrick writes.
State of play: In Seattle, just under 40% of young adults say they're "likely" or "very likely" to leave town.
That's based on Gensler survey data covering about 2,200 residents aged 18-34 with no children across 27 major U.S cities, conducted between July and November 2024.
By the numbers: Among the 27 cities included in the survey, Seattle had the seventh lowest percentage of young residents eying a move, coming in at No. 21.
Baltimore topped the list, followed by Charlotte (about 58%), Miami (52%) and Detroit (52%).
