Halloween is over — but if you're like me, you still have a bunch of leftover candy hanging around your house, just staring at you.
🍭 Treats for Troops, a program run by the charity Soldiers Angels, collects unwanted Halloween candy to ship to deployed troops.
🍬 Birthday Dreams in Renton, which provides birthday parties for children experiencing homelessness, takes candy donations.
♻️ Ridwell, the subscription recycling service, picks up leftover Halloween candy from its members.
🍫 You can also mail leftover candy to Operation Shoebox, which sends care packages to deployed troops.
Note: Some food banks, such as the Ballard Food Bank, discourage candy donations, noting that it's not the most healthy option.
