A strong start for the Mariners unraveled quickly last night as the Blue Jays rolled to a 13-4 victory in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.
The big picture:Seattle is playing for a shot at its first World Series — and needs two more wins over Toronto to get there.
Despite last night's loss, the Mariners lead 2–1 in the team's first ALCS appearance since 2001.
Catch up quick: Julio Rodríguez's two-run homer in the first inning yesterday sent the sellout T-Mobile Park crowd into a frenzy.
Seattle managed three homers — from Rodríguez, Randy Arozarena and Cal Raleigh — but couldn't overcome a shaky showing from George Kirby, who gave up eight runs in four innings.
What's next: Game 4 of the best-of-seven matchup begins at 5:33pm today at T-Mobile Park.
