Seattle has long been known as a dog-loving metropolis and our favorite pups mirror our city's lifestyle — part outdoorsy adventure, part apartment living.
State of play: Golden retrievers lead the pack, followed by Chihuahuas and Labrador retrievers, according to a new ranking from U.S. News & World Report.
Goldens and Labs thrive on trails and water play while Chihuahuas fit perfectly into tiny city apartments.
By the numbers: As of 2021, dogs outnumbered kids 150,000 to 107,000, Cascade PBS reported. The city has more than a dozen off-leash dog parks and is planning to add more.
The bottom line: Seattle's still a pup magnet — no matter the size of the paws.
