Washington is one of 18 states that would continue to allow same-sex unions if the Supreme Court overturned Obergefell v. Hodges, the landmark ruling legalizing gay marriage, which turns 10 years old today.
The Evergreen State legalized same sex marriage in 2012. But 32 other states have constitutional or legislative bans on marriage equality — laws currently unenforceable under the Obergefell decision, per the nonprofit Movement Advancement Project.
