The Seattle Sounders were eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup yesterday following a 2-0 defeat by reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain.
The big picture: In making it to the tournament, the Sounders earned a place on international soccer's biggest club stage, facing off against the champions of Europe and South America.
What they're saying: Seattle "proved we belong amongst the best in the world. Very proud of how the team played this tournament," said one fan on X.
Catch up quick: The Sounders also lost their first two Club World Club matches this month, but still had a slim chance to advance before yesterday's loss, The Seattle Times reported.
What's next: The Sounders host Austin FC in MLS regular season play on Saturday.
