Local officials are so excited about next year's FIFA World Cup matches in Seattle that they've set up a countdown clock at Seattle Center a full year in advance.
The clock installed yesterday next to the Museum of Pop Culture will count down the seconds until the start of next year's games, six of which will be hosted at Seattle's Lumen Field.
The fine print: The 2026 World Cup matches are separate from this year's FIFA Club World Cup tournament, which kicks off this weekend.
Caveat: The clock's red digital numbers are somewhat faint and hard to see in the sun (as evidenced by the above iPhone photo).
