Jill Wasberg answered one of our recent "Where are we?" challenges correctly, so we thought we'd hit her up for some of her recommendations for experiencing Seattle — and she had plenty of top-notch tips.
Zoom in: One of Jill's favorite spots in the city is the Danny Woo Community Garden in the Chinatown International District.
- Its 1.5 acres are tucked away alongside Interstate 5, featuring a fruit tree orchard, a chicken coop and 100 carefully tended plots — a great place to visit in spring, she says.
- Jill also loves to hit up Hello Em in Little Saigon for its salmon banh mi; relax at Good Society brewery's Queen Anne taproom; and browse the city's various public library branches.
Between the lines: For people looking for low-cost fun around town, she recommends visiting museums on First Thursdays, when admission at many of them is free, or checking out yoga on Monday nights at St. Mark's Cathedral.
You can often find Jill and her dog, Nabi, pulling weeds at the Interbay P-Patch, taking an urban hike in Discovery Park, or meeting friends in the CID, she says.
