9% of King County claims Irish descent

Close to 9% of King County residents reported being of Irish descent in 2022, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
- That was the sixth-lowest rate of Irishness among Washington's 39 counties.
Zoom out: Jefferson County, where nearly 16% of the population reported having Irish ancestry, was the statewide leader in this category.
- Next was Garfield County, where close to 15% of folks said they've got some Irish in 'em.
