Mardi Gras is on

Today is Fat Tuesday! And it's not too late to join the party in Seattle.

Catch up quick: Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras, is traditionally a day of celebration before the start of Lent.

Zoom in: Bakery Nouveau will serve king cake and pączki (Polish doughnuts) from 7am to 1pm today at its three locations.

• Or you can stop by Sugar Bakery, which is taking pre-orders for king cakes through Saturday (and also may have some slices on hand).

More options: Ballard Community Center is hosting a family-friendly Mardi Gras carnival today, 6-8pm.
