Valentine's Day is all about affection โ and what better way to celebrate than by bringing home a new best friend?
Driving the news: A few Seattle-area shelters are making it easier to find a furry Valentine with special adoption rates.
Zoom in: Among the dogs available at the King County shelter in Kent, 5-year-old Oreck and 1-year-old Bruce are standouts, according to agency spokesperson Cameron Satterfield.
70-pound โโOreck's favorite things are cuddles and snacks, per the shelter. A staff favorite, he has a "happy-go-lucky attitude and adorable snorts."
63-pound Bruce is "a puppy in an adult body" with a lot of energy and a love for running around and sniffing.
What's next: The Seattle Animal Shelter is hosting a series of free pet vaccination clinics, starting Feb. 19 at the Rainier Warehouse, 2901 27th Ave. South.
The bottom line: Not everyone is searching for romance this Valentine's Day, but plenty of pets are looking for homes.
