The Seattle Storm have traded franchise star Jewell Loyd — known as the "Gold Mamba" — to the Las Vegas Aces in a three-team deal that also sends former UW standout Kelsey Plum to the Los Angeles Sparks.
State of play: In return, the Storm receive the No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and the rights to center Li Yueru, according to the Storm.
What they're saying: In a letter to Seattle fans, Loyd reflected on her 10 seasons with the Storm.
"Seattle took a chance on the kid, and I'll be forever grateful for that. What I didn't know then — but I certainly know now — is that this city would become so much more than a stop along my journey."
