From Magnuson to Mukilteo, the region's profusion of Turkey Trots this year means runners, walkers and even waddlers can gobble gobble without guilt.
Why it matters: A good Turkey Day run or walk allows you to burn calories for good causes.
The big picture: We've rounded up a handful of Thanksgiving Day trots in the Seattle area.
- Pro tip: Pre-registering typically costs less than signing up the day of the run.
Issaquah Turkey Trot
The annual 5K run, walk, or trot through downtown Issaquah offers a fun way to burn some calories while supporting the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank.
- Starts at 9am. Preregistration is $40 for adults.
Magnuson Park Turkey Day Trot
Choose between 5K, 10K, or 15K options and enjoy chip-timed races, a kids' dash, and prizes for top finishers. The race supports Teen Feed, and you can also bring donations for the University District Food Bank.
- 9:15am for the kids' dash ($5). 9:30am for the main events. Preregistration for adults is $30-$40.
Montlake Turkey Trot
Take in the scenery of the Washington Park Arboretum during this run, which features a 5K option, two shorter options for kids' races, and an untimed 5K or 1K walk.
- 9am. Registration ranges from $40-$55, with lower prices for the kids' races. Benefits the University District Food Bank.
Mukilteo Turkey Trot
Known for the signature pajama bottoms participants receive, this mostly flat run on closed roads within the Harbour Pointe Community offers 5K and 10K courses with special pricing for students.
- 7:30am and 8:15am. Registration from $40 to $60.
Woodinville Turkey Trot
The annual 5K run along the Sammamish River Trail, starting at Wilmot Gateway Park, offers a kid's dash, a costume parade and a drum line performance with awards for the top performers.
- 9am. Preregistration is $5 for kids, $40 for adults.
Bainbridge Island Turkey Trot
Benefiting Helpline House, which provides food and social services, the Bainbridge Island Turkey Trot at Battle Point Park draws thousands to its 1-mile and 5K events.
- 8:30am and 9am. Preregistration is $35-$45.
