Vice President Harris has won Washington state's 12 electoral college votes, the Associated Press reported shortly after polls closed Tuesday.
Flashback: The last time a majority of Washington state voters chose a Republican for president was in 1984, when the state went for Ronald Reagan.
- In both 2016 and 2020, former President Trump captured less than 40% of the vote in Washington.
- Washington is a vote-by-mail state, so more ballots will be counted in the days following Nov. 5.
