A couple of months ago, we asked readers if Washington's higher restaurant coffee pricesmade anyone want to move to the cheaper Midwest.
State of play: No one told us they wanted to move to the middle of the U.S., where a cuppa joe was at least $1 cheaper per cup (though a few said they'd gladly move to Hawaii, which has the most expensive restaurant coffee in the country).
Instead, many Seattleites have invested in java-making equipment for their home kitchens.
What they're saying: Reader Richard G. says he plans to continue making his own coffee drinks at home with a roaster, an Ascaso mini grinder, a Gaggia Factory 106 espresso machine and a milk frother.
"The Midwest and Hawaii are each far too hot and humid for me to ever consider living in again… coffee cost or otherwise," he wrote.
