This week marks the 48th anniversary of the Seahawks kicking off their first season ever.

Zoom in: The Hawks played their first regular-season game at the newly built Kingdome on Sept. 12, 1976, losing 30-24 to the St. Louis Cardinals.

• The team continued to play at the Kingdome until shortly before the stadium's demolition in 2000.
