From the Salt Palace to the UCCU Center, Dolly Parton, who died Tuesday at the age of 80, made several stops in Utah throughout her chart-topping career.
Flashback: Her last Utah concert was at the UCCU Center in Orem in 2016, as part of her final headlining tour, where she performed stripped-down versions of her music.
- One of her most notable concerts was at the Salt Palace in 1990 alongside country star Kenny Rogers.
- "Parton was her old professional, unaffected self; telling bittersweet stories of life in the Smoky Mountains and sharing her feelings about everything from The National Enquirer to life north of the Mason-Dixon Line," Deseret News reported at the time.
- The year after releasing her debut studio album, "Hello, I'm Dolly," she performed at North Salt Lake's short-lived Valley Music Hall in 1968 with country artist Porter Wagoner, per Deseret News archives.
