Alta is the only city in Utah where the typical starter home is valued at $1 million or more, according to new Zillow data shared with Axios.

Alta began as a small mining town and has since transformed into a world-class ski destination.
The town's population was 228 residents, per the 2020 Census.
The big picture: 26 states had at least one city with million-dollar starter homes in April, up from nine states before the pandemic, Zillow found, Axios' Sami Sparber and Mimi Montgomery report.
California leads with 105 cities, followed by New York with 41 and New Jersey with 26.
