Alta is the only city in Utah where the typical starter home is valued at $1 million or more, according to new Zillow data shared with Axios.
By the numbers: The typical starter home in Alta is $1.2 million.

- The town's population was 228 residents, per the 2020 Census.
The big picture: 26 states had at least one city with million-dollar starter homes in April, up from nine states before the pandemic, Zillow found, Axios' Sami Sparber and Mimi Montgomery report.
- California leads with 105 cities, followed by New York with 41 and New Jersey with 26.
