Borikén Sol, a mother-son team, is filling the gap with takeaway plates and periodic in-person dining at Square Kitchen's culinary incubator.
What's inside: The menu includes island staples like carne guisada stew, roasted pork and a pastiche of platanos preparations.
Best bite: Our favorite was the mofongitos — plantains mashed with garlic and deep-fried into addictive little hush puppies.
