Blue Copper closing Marmalade shop for rebrand

Blue Copper 2000 in the Marmalade District is closing at the end of the month as it plans to "re-envision" the space and open under a new name.

What they're saying: "As the neighborhood has grown and changed over the years, we've started to feel a little behind the times," the business wrote in a recent social media post.

It said its current layout has never allowed it to provide a "robust" food menu.

The vibe: The corner cafe, opened in 2019 is known for its black-and-white minimalist design, penny tiles and futuristic, arcade themes.

"We made some design choices with the space that we still LOVE ... but they don't totally match our vision moving forward," per the post.

What's next: Blue Copper's last day is March 31, with hours from 7–2pm, featuring Tacos Daddy food truck and free merch.

The Central Ninth location will remain open.

Kim's thought bubble: I'll deeply miss their $2 any-size cold brew deal, but at least I can look forward to something new.
