What I'll miss (and won't) about Sundance

After going to the Sundance Film Festival for the past three years, I can't help but appreciate the little things that made covering the event special to me.
- Except for the parts I never want to deal with again.
What I'll miss
💙 Making connections: Sundance makes it easy to find friends from all over the world. Long lines for movies and panels and crowded buses gave everyone plenty of time to talk.
- Plus, the shared excitement of seeing something new creates an open-minded, curious crowd.
🍣 Fresh Market's ready-to-go food section: The Park Avenue grocery store is a lifeline for attendees looking to save time — and money, as some Main Street staples charge upwards of $30 for a simple lunch.
- I was particularly fond of the pre-made sushi rolls and sandwiches.
What I won't miss
🚗 Parking: This was probably my biggest headache when covering the festival. That said, I'm proud I never received a parking ticket.
- Big reveal: My closely guarded parking spot was next to the Sheraton Park City — the festival's headquarters — on Sidewinder Drive, just steps from the shuttle system that could get me to all the essential venues.
❄️ Driving to Park City: Unlike most reporters who stayed in Park City during the festival, I commuted daily from Salt Lake City, white-knuckling it through snowstorms on winding roads.
