Nine Mile Canyon has been dubbed "the world's longest art gallery" for its elaborate rock art — but finding it all can be tricky.
The latest: A new guidebook makes much easier work of touring the eastern Utah canyon, while leaving enough for you to discover on your own.
What's inside: "Echoes of the Ancestors" by Verlicia Perez gives clear directions to the sometimes-hard-to-find ancient masterpieces, along with cultural information about the Fremont people and stories gathered from Ute elders, describing some of the images.
My thought bubble: My family and friends used the guide on a recent weekend getaway, and it was a relief to have waypoints and clear, layperson-friendly descriptions.
