Chowhound calls Slackwater's California Sunrise Utah's best pizza

Slackwater Pizzeria makes Utah's best pie, according to Chowhound's state-by-state list.

State of play: The chain's best-seller — the California Sunrise, built on a Green Goddess base with chicken, bacon, grape tomatoes, avocado, spinach, and a three-cheese blend — took the crown for the top pizza in the state, according to the food site.

What they're saying: "While there's definitely something to be said for classic pizzas like a Margherita or pepperoni, sometimes it's refreshing to see spots that think outside the box with unexpected pizza toppings," Chowhound wrote.

Zoom out: The eatery has spread to four Utah cities — Herriman, Provo, Sandy and Salt Lake City — since it opened its first location in Ogden in 2011.

My thought bubble: The personal-sized pizza reminds me of a salad thanks to its combination of fresh ingredients.
