Delta Air Lines and Nike are collaborating to celebrate the carrier's centennial anniversary with a limited Air Force 1 drop available exclusively for employees.
Why it matters: GQ, the men's fashion magazine, called the Delta-themed sneakers "one of the rarest releases of 2025."
Salt Lake City, a major Delta hub, is home to more than 5,000 airline workers, which means local employees could be well-positioned to cash in on the potentially collectible sneakers.
State of play: The white kicks feature the company's red triangular logo near the back of the shoe, a message recognizing its 100th anniversary on the tongue and a blue-outlined swoosh.
Employees can pre-order the shoes priced at $150, now through Aug. 22. There's a limit of two pairs per employee.
The bottom line: "Shoes like the OG Wu-Tang Dunks and Undefeated 4s continue to fetch five-figure price tags — even after their general releases to the public decades later," according to GQ.
"So if your cousin works as a flight attendant for the airline, well, we hope you remembered to text them on their birthday this year."
