May brings political protests, vigils and rallies to Utah

Thursday

8:45am: A rally supporting rule of law and opposing Trump's attacks on law firms and judges will be held on the Utah State Capitol steps.

9am: A protest walk-a-thon will continue until 5pm in Kanab.

Noon: A rally for worker solidarity and economic equality is set for Washington Square Park in SLC.

• A rally, march and potluck picnic begins at Capitol Reef National Park.

6pm: A May Day celebration in Millcreek's Canyon Rim Park features live music and a sing-along of protest and labor songs.

• Protest hikers will display flags from Grandeur Peak.

What's next

May 3: A "Utah Die In" protest focusing on health and safety is planned for Noon Saturday on the Capitol steps.

• That's followed by a "Save Our Lands, Save Our Parks" rally at 3:30pm.
• A protest is set for noon at the Cache County Courthouse in Logan.

May 5: A vigil for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives at 7pm in Liberty Park.

May 24: May Day! Flamenco Songs of Protest begins 7:30pm at Regent Street Black Box.
