The majority of Utahns won't have to worry about obtaining a Real ID before the May deadline.
By the numbers: More than 95.5% of Utah residents are already compliant due to the state's early adoption of Real IDs, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.
Driving the news: Starting May 7, a Real ID-compliant license or identification card — or another acceptable document — is needed to board a commercial aircraft in the U.S, Axios' Kelly Tyko writes.
The guidelines also apply when visiting military bases and secure federal buildings like courthouses.
Zoom in: If your driver license or ID has a gold star in the upper right-hand corner, you're good to go.
If it doesn't, head to a Driver License Division office with documents confirming your identity, residence and Social Security number.
