BYU opens March Madness with near wire-to-wire win, Utah State falls in blowout

• BYU then went on a 32-15 run to blow things open and never trailed again before winning 80-71.
• The Cougs went 7-20 from beyond the arc but shot 50% from the field and held VCU to 41% shooting.

What's next: BYU will face No. 3 Wisconsin on Saturday time. The Badgers are coming off a blowout 85-66 win against No. 14 Montana.

Meanwhile, Utah State suffered a 25 point defeat at the hands of No. 7 UCLA.

• The Aggies put up only 47 points in the game and shot just 30% from the field. It didn't help that USU went 4-31 from three, while UCLA converted nearly 42%.
