State of play: Axios Salt Lake City could not locate a campaign website for Everylove.

• He met requirements like paying a $500 fee and gathering 1,000 signatures to qualify.

What they're saying: "There was a guy named Evan McMullin ... and he ran because he wanted to get people [an] alternative to the other two candidates," Everylove, who was inspired by the independent 2016 presidential campaign, told KSL NewsRadio. "There were a lot of people that just couldn't stomach voting for either of them."

• And, yes, he says that's his real name.

Flashback: He previously spearheaded the anti-Trump organization Americans Take Action, according to The BYU Universe, a student newspaper at Brigham Young University.

The bottom line: While there isn't much public information about Everylove's platform, he's a legitimate candidate.
