University of Utah and Intermountain Health hospitals rank as best in the state

U.S. News & World Report published its annual list of best hospitals in the country this month.

State of play: U.S. News assessed 60 hospitals in Utah and ranked the top four.

They are:

1. University of Utah Hospital

2. Intermountain Medical Center

3. Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital

4. Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital (tied)

4. Intermountain Health St. George Regional Hospital (tied)

The intrigue: The university hospital ranked nationally in two specialties: No. 10 in ophthalmology and No. 27 in rehabilitation.
