Utah Royals make their comeback in Saturday's home opener

The Utah Royals start the 2024 season this Saturday in a home opener against the Chicago Red Stars.

Why it matters: It's the women's soccer club's first match in Utah since the team was moved to Kansas City in 2020.

Real Salt Lake owners Ryan Smith and David Blitzer announced the team's return last March.

What to watch: It's also a comeback for World Cup champion and former Utah Royals captain Amy Rodriguez, who will lead the team as head coach.
