🎊 Ring in the Year of the Dragon

Saturday is the Lunar New Year, when the Year of the Rabbit becomes the Year of the Dragon.

  • 恭喜发财! (Gong shi fa tsai)

Why it matters: Chinese tradition holds that dragons are powerful, lucky and wise — traits that are believed to extend to people born during dragon years.

Join in the fun: Check out these celebrations in and around Salt Lake:

  • The Tyler Library in Midvale is hosting games, treats, crafts and performances 3pm–5:30pm today.
  • Discovery Gateway is planning a lion dance and other activities at 2pm Saturday.
  • Utah Business Summit will host a festival with booths, games, performances, crafts and food 11am–5:20pm Saturday at 2001 S. State St.
