An immersive Claude Monet art exhibit opens in Richmond today

Move over Van Gogh, it's time for Richmonders to experience Claude Monet.
The big picture: Starting Thursday through January, the immersive Vincent Van Gogh exhibit that's been housed in the old Short Pump Lidl for over a year is now dedicated to floor-to-ceiling projections of Monet's paintings.
- Both are from New York-based Fever entertainment company, which also does the Candlelight concerts you've likely seen in Instagram ads.
Zoom in: "Claude Monet: An Immersive Experience" overlaps with the 135th anniversary of Monet buying his Giverny estate, which would inspire the French painter's most-famous pieces.
- Visitors will be able to walk through a recreation of those landscapes, similar to how they could walk through Van Gogh's work earlier this year.
Fun fact: This type of exhibition is known for tapping into a growing trend that links art with stress relief.
