First look inside Raleigh's Botiwalla

Botiwalla, the much-anticipated Indian street food restaurant from the chef of Asheville's acclaimed Chai Pani, opens in Raleigh Iron Works tomorrow.
- We got a first peek inside of the new restaurant, which is a big pop of pastel colors that's full of nostalgic imagery from India in the 1960s and 70s.
State of play: This is the fifth Botiwalla location for chef Meherwan Irani, who won the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Restaurant award in 2022.
- Botiwalla also has locations in Asheville, Charlotte and Atlanta, and Irani is still in the running for the 2026 Outstanding Restaurateur award from the James Beard Foundation.
