More amenities coming near Dix Park

Raleigh's Dix Park continues to attract new businesses to its doorstep.

• The latest is Rooted Yoga, which will open later this year at Kane Realty's Rockway development on Saunders Street.

Why it matters: Billions of dollars are being invested into areas around Dix Park, adding thousands of new apartments and new shops and restaurants, and creating a new destination district in the city.

• "[T]he growing area near Dix Park is a huge plus, as it already attracts the active, wellness-minded folks we hope to serve," Rooted Yoga owner TJ Holt said in a statement.

Zoom in: Rockway, an apartment building that opened last year near the entrance to Dix Park, has had other businesses set up shop.

• They include Benchwarmers Bagels, BK Pilates, the soon-to-open Campo Taco and Sunflower's Cafe. Across the street, Willow House Coffee opened last year.
