A new Mexican restaurant will open near Dix Park

Campo Taco Co., a new restaurant serving Mexican food, will open at the recently opened Rockway apartment project near Dix Park later this year.

Why it matters: Campo joins a growing hub of businesses betting on a surge of people flocking to new attractions at Dix Park, like the Gipson Play Plaza, as well as the addition of hundreds of new apartments.

Driving the news: Campo will be the third business to open at Rockway, an apartment building Raleigh-based Kane Realty is building at 925 S. Saunders St.

Other businesses opening there include Benchwarmers Bagels and BK Pilates, which is already open.
Across the street, Willow House Coffee is also now open.

Zoom in: Campo will lease space on the bottom floor of the building that features an expansive outdoor patio on the edge of the city's greenway system.

The menu was not yet available, but the restaurant said in a release that it will focus on tacos and an extensive bar program.
The restaurant is expected to open later this year.
