The Triangle's wine bar scene has been booming in recent months, with numerous wine shops and bars opening their doors and more on the way.
Here's a quick guide to some of our favorite wine bars in the region in no particular order, plus a few opening in the near future:
Raleigh
Foxcroft Wine, a bar and restaurant with multiple locations in Charlotte, opened its first store in Raleigh's North Hills in January.
- The wine bar pours dozens of wines by the glass, sells hundreds of different wine bottles and has an extensive food menu including pastas, flatbreads and charcuterie.
Location: 4421 Six Forks Road, No. 115, Raleigh
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 11am to 10pm
- Friday through Saturday, 11am to 11pm
- Sunday, noon to 8pm

Postino WineCafe: A Phoenix-born wine bar chain, Postino opened in the former Cafe Carolina space in the Village District last summer.
- The cafe serves their famous burrata boards, soups, salads and panini, plus more than 30 wines by the glass.
Location: 401 Daniels St., Raleigh
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 11am to 11pm
- Friday, 11am to midnight (kitchen closes at 11)
- Saturday, 10am to midnight (kitchen closes at 11)
- Sunday, 10am to 10pm

The Raleigh Wine Shop, a staple in the City of Oaks, is well-known in particular for its superb customer service along with its expansive selection of wine.
- The shop, which moved to a new and larger space nearly three years ago, offers numerous wines by the glass at the bar, along with charcuterie boards. It also often hosts events featuring food trucks and other pop-ups.
Location: 317 S. Bloodworth St., Raleigh
Hours: Monday through Wednesday, noon to 8pm
- Thursday through Saturday, noon to 9pm
- Sunday, noon to 6pm

Durham
Delafia: The newest bar and wine shop from Jesse Gerstl, who previously ran the small but much beloved Peccadillo cocktail bar in Carrboro and Bar Lusconi in Durham, with a come-as-you-are vibe and friendly staff.
- Delafia works with several local wine distributors to bring in an ever-rotating list of natural wines that are rarely seen on menus in the Triangle.
- In addition to wines, the intimate and dimly lit bar also offers beers, non-alcoholic drinks and a small food menu with items like olives, cheese and tinned fish.
Location: 1103 S. Roxboro St., Durham
Hours: Sunday through Wednesday, 4 to 10pm
- Thursday through Saturday, 4pm to midnight

Coupe & Stein Champagne Bar: A newly opened bar in Durham that serves a variety of Champagne-based cocktails, in addition to classic cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer and sake.
- Food options include snacks, small plates like charcuterie and a rotating list of desserts.

Hours: Thursday, 5 to 10pm

- Saturday, 5pm to midnight
Carrboro
Glasshalfull: A wine bar and restaurant serving downtown Carrboro since 2007, Glasshalfull offers an expansive wine list, plus beer and cocktails, alongside Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
Location: 106 S. Greensboro St., Carrboro
Hours: Monday through Friday lunch, 11:30am to 2:30pm
- Monday through Thursday dinner, 5 to 9pm
- Friday through Saturday dinner, 5 to 9:30pm
Cary
RBF, Your Authentic Champagne Bar: A safe place for your resting b**** face, RBF offers a rotating list of wine and champagne, plus mocktails, CBD and delta-9 beverages, snacks and charcuterie boards. Notably, they do not serve beer (and you probably shouldn't ask).
Location: 210 E. Chatham St., Ste. 10, Cary
Hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 4 to 9pm
- Friday, 4 to 10 pm
- Saturday, 2 to 10 pm
- Sunday, 2 to 7 pm

Napa Bistro & Wine Bar will open its first location outside the Charlotte area on Raleigh's Glenwood Avenue this spring.
The Hippo Wine Bar and Shop, located in downtown Raleigh, is temporarily closed for remodeling but will reopen in the near future, per the shop's Instagram.
- Location: 123 E Martin St., Raleigh
Wedgewood Cheese Bar, one of the Triangle's most anticipated new spots, will open in Carrboro in 2025.
- Location: 100 Brewer Lane, Carrboro
Saint-Pierre, a wine shop and bar from Oakwood Pizza Box's Anthony Guerra, will open in Raleigh's Iron Works this summer.
