Four Democratic incumbents representing the Portland area and its suburbs easily won reelection Tuesday as their party seized control of the U.S. House, according to the Associated Press.

Why it matters: The victories ensure all four incumbents will return to represent the reliably blue region in D.C. for another two years.

Here's how the races shook out:

1st District: Suzanne Bonamici defeated Republican Barbara Kahl, 70% to 30%.
3rd District: Maxine Dexter defeated Republican Loran Ayles, 76% to 24%.
5th District: Janelle Bynum defeated Republican Patti Adair, 55% to 43%.
6th District: Andrea Salinas defeated Republican David Russ, 58% to 43%.

Zoom out: Incumbents in Oregon's two other congressional districts — 2nd District Republican Cliff Bentz representing eastern Oregon and 4th District Democrat Val Hoyle representing Eugene and parts of the coast — also won their races.
